Ordering
Terms of Sale
The short version
- Every piece is handmade and one of a kind. Small bubbles, streaks and color changes in the glass are part of its character, not flaws.
- Ready-made pieces ship within 7 business days. If we can't make that, we'll tell you and you can cancel for a full refund.
- If a piece arrives broken, tell us within 48 hours and we'll make it right.
- Ready-made pieces can be returned within 14 days. Custom commissions are made just for you, so they're final once the glass is cut.
- Stained glass is glass, and some pieces contain lead. Hang it securely and keep it away from small children.
About these terms
These terms apply when you buy a piece from www.enlightenedstainedglass.com, or order one from Enlightened Stained Glass through Instagram or email. By placing an order you agree to them. If anything here is unclear, ask us before you buy at enlightenedstainedglass@gmail.com.
The pieces
Each piece is cut, painted, fired and soldered by hand, so no two are alike. We photograph every piece carefully, but colors look different depending on the light behind the glass, the time of day and your screen. Seeds (tiny bubbles), streaks, texture and slight irregularities in solder lines are natural features of handmade stained glass, not defects. Sizes are approximate, usually within about a quarter inch.
Prices and payment
- Prices are in US dollars. Applicable sales tax and shipping are shown at checkout before you pay.
- Payment is handled by Stripe on its secure checkout page. When you order through Instagram, we'll send you a secure payment link or agree on payment with you before shipping.
- Your order is confirmed once payment goes through, and you'll get a confirmation by email.
- Because every piece is one of a kind, it's possible for two people to buy the same piece at almost the same moment. If that happens, or if a piece was listed at a clearly wrong price, we'll let you know right away and give you a full refund. You won't be charged for a piece we can't send.
Shipping and pickup
- Ready-made pieces are packed by hand and shipped within 7 business days of payment. You'll get tracking details when the piece ships.
- If something delays your order past that time, we'll tell you by email with a new date. You can then cancel for a full refund or choose to wait.
- Local pickup may be possible. Ask us before ordering.
- We currently ship within the United States. Ask us about other countries.
If your piece arrives damaged
Glass is packed with a lot of care, but accidents happen in transit. If your piece arrives broken or damaged, email us within 48 hours of delivery with photos of the piece, the box and the packing. Please keep the packaging, because the carrier may need to see it. We'll repair the piece, make a similar one if you'd like, or give you a full refund including shipping.
Returns
- Ready-made pieces can be returned within 14 days of delivery if they're in the condition you received them. Email us first so we can tell you where to send it. Pack it as carefully as it came; return shipping is paid by you unless the piece was damaged or not as described. We'll refund the price of the piece within 7 days of receiving it in good condition. The original shipping cost isn't refundable.
- Custom commissions are made to order and are final sale once the glass has been cut, unless the piece arrives damaged or is not what we agreed.
- Nothing in these terms takes away any rights you have under consumer protection law.
Custom commissions
- Every commission starts with a conversation and a sketch. We'll agree on the design, size, colors and a price before any glass is cut.
- We may ask for a deposit to start. We'll tell you the amount and whether it's refundable before you pay it.
- Timelines are estimates. Glass painting and kiln firing can take longer than planned, and we'll keep you updated.
- We'll do our best to match the colors we discuss, but handmade glass varies from sheet to sheet.
- Andrea keeps the copyright to her designs. Buying a piece, including a commission, gives you the piece itself, not the right to reproduce the design.
- We sometimes share photos of finished commissions on this site and on Instagram. We'll ask you first if a photo shows your home, and you can always ask us not to share your piece.
Care and safety
- Stained glass is fragile and can have sharp edges if it breaks. Handle it with care and carry larger panels upright with both hands.
- Hang pieces securely, using chain, wire or fishing line rated well above the piece's weight, and check the hanger from time to time. We're not responsible for damage caused by a piece falling because of the hanging method or hardware.
- Some pieces are made with lead came and lead-containing solder. Wash your hands after handling a piece, and keep stained glass out of reach of small children and pets. Pieces are decorative and are not toys.
- Clean gently with a soft dry cloth. Skip ammonia and vinegar cleaners. See the care section on our home page for more.
Photos and designs
All designs, photos and text on this site belong to Andrea Corrington and Enlightened Stained Glass unless otherwise noted. You're welcome to share links to the site. Please don't copy the designs or photos for commercial use without asking. The Teton window at the top of the home page is a digital illustration, not a piece for sale.
Our responsibility
We stand behind our work and will always try to make things right. To the extent the law allows, our total responsibility for any claim about a piece is limited to the amount you paid for it, and we're not responsible for indirect or unforeseeable losses. This doesn't limit any rights you have that can't be limited by law.
Governing law
Enlightened Stained Glass is based in Oregon, and these terms are governed by Oregon law. If we ever have a disagreement, please email us first; almost everything can be worked out that way. If it can't, either of us may bring the matter in the state or federal courts in Oregon, or in small claims court where you live. Nothing in these terms takes away consumer protections you have under the laws of your own state.
Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. The version in effect when you place your order is the one that applies to it.
