For everyone
Accessibility
We want everyone to be able to browse and buy Andrea's work. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA, and we test the site with automated accessibility checks, a keyboard and screen sizes from phones to desktops.
What we've done
- Every photo of a piece has a text description, and decorative images are hidden from screen readers.
- Everything can be reached and used with a keyboard, focus is clearly outlined, and a "Skip to the shop" link lets you jump past the opening section.
- Text is written to stay readable against its background in both the daylight and evening views.
- A Pause button at the top of every page stops all animation, turns off the glowing-glass light and brings back your normal mouse pointer. The site remembers your choice.
- If your device is set to reduce motion, the opening animation, drifting light and other automatic movement are turned off automatically.
- The glowing-glass light that follows your pointer or finger is decorative only. You never need it to find, read or buy anything, and text keeps a readable outline when the light passes behind it.
- Form fields and buttons have clearly visible edges, and the cart keeps keyboard focus inside it while it's open.
- The site works at any zoom level and on any screen size.
Known limitations
- Some older photos may have shorter descriptions than we'd like. We add detail as we update the shop.
- Payment takes place on Stripe's checkout page, which Stripe designs and maintains for accessibility.
- Orders and commission requests sent through Instagram depend on Instagram's own accessibility.
